Sets up standard test devices to conduct functional, operational and in-circuit tests to evaluate performance and reliability of production assemblies.
Tests assemblies following pre-determined methods of test.
Understands the operation of customer supplied test procedures, fixtures, and software.
Creates test procedures based on customer specifications and requirements as needed.
Adjusts, calibrates, aligns and modifies circuitry and components, and records effects on unit performance.
Maintains and upgrades test equipment and modifies, designs, and programs test equipment if necessary.
Writes reports to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications and functional limitations.
Checks function of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
Analyzes and interprets test data and diagnoses problems arising from production test.
Instructs others in use of customer supplied test procedures, fixtures and software.
Examines parts for defects.
Works at different workstations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive test operations.
Repairs and/or reworks assemblies, including hand soldering and de-soldering.
Meet with customers to discuss customer-related issues; including travel to customer site.
Assist assembly crew during low test times, or as needed.
Attend training sessions/receives instruction on new product lines regarding processes, quality and safety standards.
Attend company sponsored classes/training sessions.
Adheres to the requirements of the company's ISO Quality Management System (QMS).
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
Associate's degree (AS or AAS) or equivalent from a certified two-year college or technical school and one year related experience and/or training; or BS degree in Electronics or Computer Technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficiency including MS Office and Adobe.
Programming tools, i.
e.
, Microchip, Atmel and Xilinx programmable devices; high and low level programming languages such as C and assembler; standard computer interfaces such as RS232, USB or Ethernet Component identification, markings, function and orientation in circuit assemblies, and the ability to discern such information from manufacturer data sheets.
Previous experience working in an ISO environment a plus.
